Short version: our games and the Volt app don't collect anything about you. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no third-party trackers in any of them. Our web pages use simple product analytics, described under "This website".
The Volt companion app turns your phone into a controller for a Volt game running in a web browser or on your own computer. It needs three things from your phone, and uses each only for that:
The app stores your chosen player name and the last address you joined, on the phone, so you don't retype them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Volt Party and Volt Kart run on your own computer. Game progress, settings, and best times are saved on that computer. Volt Kart talks to bike and trainer hardware over Bluetooth to read your pedalling and set resistance; that data stays on the machine.
Both also run in a web browser, at voltparty.com/play and voltkart.games/play. There, progress and settings are saved in your browser, and Volt Kart reaches bikes and trainers through the browser's Bluetooth; those readings stay in the tab.
On a computer, Volt Party runs a small server so phones on your Wi-Fi can load the controller page; it is only reachable from your own network. In the browser, phones join through the Volt Party server instead. It passes motion, taps and pose points between the phones and the game while the party runs — pose points are worked out on the phone, and camera images never leave it. Nothing is stored: a party closes fifteen minutes after the game leaves, and the server's connection logs (IP address, time) are kept for a week for security, then deleted.
If you join an online race, your computer sends your steering and throttle to the race server and receives the positions of other karts. That is what makes the race work. We don't attach it to an identity, and we don't keep it after the race.
No tracking or advertising cookies. Standard web server logs (IP address, page, time) are kept briefly for security and to know whether anything is broken.
We use PostHog product analytics on these pages, including the browser games (pages viewed, clicks, approximate location; no selling of data).
These are family games and we've built them so there is nothing to collect from anyone, whatever their age.
If this ever changes — if we add accounts or online features that need to store something — we'll update this page and say so in the games rather than quietly widening it.
