Your town is a power grid. Walk it to light it up.

Volt Grid is a free iPhone game from VOLT. Every hex you walk through lights up for your crew. Parks, trails, libraries and lakes near you become Power Nodes, mascots gather at real places, and your steps hatch charge cells, even with the app closed.

How to play

Light hexes. Walk anywhere. Each hex you pass through lights up and fades over 7 days unless you walk it again.
Charge at Power Nodes. Real places from Apple Maps. Walk within about 150 feet and tap to charge. Your first visit to a place pays a bonus.
Befriend mascots. Walk within about 200 feet of a mascot on the map, tap it, then tap when the ring meets the circle. Where you walk decides who you meet: GLOOP by water, SHADOW after dark, DIESEL on trails.
Charge Runs. Tap GO for three walking loops from where you stand, sized to your own step baseline. Finish one for a charge cell and a streak day.
Crews and the Static. Join SURGE, ARC or FLUX. Walk over a rival crew's hexes to take them. A Static storm lands near you every day: walk through every purple hex to clear it.

Common questions

My steps aren't counting. Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness and make sure Volt Grid is allowed.

Hexes stop lighting in a car or on a bike. That's on purpose: above about 15 mph (25 km/h) nothing counts.

Will it track me with the app closed? Only during a walk you start, and iOS shows the blue location indicator while it does. Steps come from your phone's motion chip, not location.

How do I hide my home? Hexes near where you first opened the app are never shared. You can move that zone or switch sharing off in the trophy screen.

How do I delete my data? Trophy screen → Delete my shared turf. Everything else lives only on your phone and is removed when you delete the app.

Play safe

Keep your eyes up and stay aware of traffic and your surroundings. Don't enter private property or unsafe places to reach a node or mascot. There's always another one.
